Mucoadhesive and orodispersible patch

The research team has developed a muco-adhesive film by assembling natural polymers. Its surface can then be covered with a protein of interest or with nanoparticles crossing the buccal mucosa in a controlled manner at several sites in the buccal cavity (sublingual, cheek, palate, ginvival). This technology would allow an extended administration of a wide range of molecules and in particular recombinant proteins or antibodies.
